Urine drug testing is the most common method used when determining substance abuse. Testing is available in many different panels. A panel is a drug of abuse or a class of drugs of abuse. In most situations, the 5 panel and 10 panel are used, but depending on your needs a different panel may be appropriate. Gateway Drug Screening can work with you to determine the panel that fits your testing needs.
Urine drug testing is normally conducted by a laboratory to obtain the most accurate results. Laboratory test results are normally available the next business day but could take up to 72 hours. Laboratory testing includes testing of adulterants and substituted specimens at no additional charge. All laboratory tests are confirmed with GC/MS and are eligible for review by a Medical Review Officer (MRO) in situations of a false positive due to legitimate prescription drug use.
While laboratory testing is the most accurate and most common method of testing a urine specimen, in some situations it may be conducted outside of a laboratory using an instant test. Instant testing does have limitations and Gateway Drug Screening can discuss the test that best fits your needs.
